Yes, you will need your own instrument for your lessons. This can be a school borrowed instrument, rented instrument from a music store or one that you have purchased. If you would like a recommendation for an instrument or where to rent one please don’t hesitate to ask. 

I am formerly a HCPSS middle school band director. I currently teach in person lessons out of Emmitsburg, MD. However, with the option of virtual lessons I am able to take students from any location. 

Students will need their instrument, Rubank Elementary Methods, Intermediate OR Advanced book based on their ability which we will discuss after the first lesson. Students will also need at least four good reeds, cork grease and a pencil. 

Typically musicians tend to choose 1 hour lessons however, I do offer 30 minute lessons as well. If 30 minutes is too short and an hour is too long please ask about the option for a 45 minute lesson. 

No, there is no deadline to sign up for lessons. We can begin lessons at any point in the year.
