Lessons

For All Performance Levels

Each lesson, whether virtual or in person is customized to fit the individual needs of each musician. My goal as your private teacher is to create an enjoyable musical environment that is conducive to learning in all aspects.

In Person

During our in person lessons students will gain a better understanding of musicality, music theory, sight reading, audition techniques, performance, tone quality etc. We will focus on solos and any other music you may want to work on (music from school or another ensemble) as well as prep for any extra curricular performance opportunities.

In person lessons provide an ideal way of learning music and listening. These types of lessons allow for individual and duet performances while also fostering a deeper understanding of musical expression, achieved through in person performances.

Students must have their own instrument, reeds and a music folder for lesson materials. Students will also be asked to purchase a specific music book to follow through each lesson.

Parents are welcome to come in and attend the lesson with the musician or simply drop them off and be back to pick them up 5 minutes prior to the lessons end time.

Virtual

During our virtual lessons students will gain a better understanding of musicality, music theory, sight reading, audition techniques, performance, tone quality etc. We will focus on solos and any other music you may want to work on (music from school or another ensemble) as well as prep for any extra curricular performance opportunities.

Virtual lessons provide a different type of learning that is sometimes helpful for those who are not fully comfortable playing in front of someone. This option allows for the student to play their instrument from the comfort of their own home.

For virtual lessons, students must have their own instrument, reeds and a music folder for lesson materials, access to a computer or device for google meet sessions, a web camera to be visible to the teacher during lessons and a microphone to be heard (typically installed on the computer). Students will also be asked to purchase a specific music book to follow through each lesson.
